In 2007 the Las Vegas Multiple Listings Service map will be changed. The old MLS area map will become obsolete in favor of the new section reference map. This comes as a result of major changes in the Las Vegas Valley as the areas around some older areas are now being developed into much nicer areas than what they are combined with on the old mls map. A good example is the recent development of the Lake Las Vegas area that included old Henderson. It will take a while for this new system to be integrated into the Multiple Listing Service and I perceive that a dual use situation may come about for a year or so as the new system is phased in and any problems are worked out. The hope of the new system and map is that Buyers and Sellers will be able to obtain more realistic information concerning valuation of their target homes as well as a better ability to target specific geographical areas that a prospective Buyer may be interested in. The map system will be much more complex to use and require additional research to us effectively. We are confident that additional tools will be developed to aid in its use and make the system more user friendly. We will be posting the new map as it becomes available to us.
