Mountains Edge is a community containing approximately 3,627 acres. It is located within the boundaries of the unincorporated town of Enterprise in the southwest part of the Valley. This community/neighborhood is located south of Blue Diamond Road and west of Rainbow Boulevard.
Several parks are planned for Mountains Edge Master Planned Community development including the 80-acre Exploration Park in Mountain's Edge, where more than 500 acres are designated for parks and trails. At build out, there will be four elementary schools, two middle schools and a high school in addition to a fire station, shopping centers and restaurants.
The neighborhood area includes about 700 acres for public facilities including schools, parks, and a fire station. The community was built with a Special Improvement District (SID) with over $80 million in roadways, flood control, traffic and utility infrastructure. Each lot will bear a portion of this SID as a lien in Mountains Edge Master Planned Community .
The neighborhood land uses include approximately 2,150 acres of single family and multi-family residential Structures. Planned within Mountains Edge Master Planned Community is 114 acres of office professional and 150 acres of general commercial development. The maximum number of residential dwelling units is capped at 12,500 units within the planned community.
Construction began in mid-2003 with a projected 10 year build out.
